THIS IS HUGELY IMPORTANT
We are asking you to use your voice to protect the ban on live exports of livestock.
We are working with national animal welfare groups, such as SPCA, VAWA, HUHA and others to bring you this petition to protect the ban on the cruel and horrendous practice of live export by sea....and we need you to weigh in too.
Heading the petition is Dr John Hellstrom ONZM, past Chief Veterinary Officer of MAF (now MPI), past Chair of the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee, and Chair of the Intensive Winter Grazing Task force.
John is a retired veterinarian who has been closely involved with live export as a regulator and overseer. He has had concerns about the live export of animals by ship and the welfare of our animals overseas for over 30 years.
We can't stress enough how important this is. Our last Government introduced a ban on live export by sea, but our new Government is threatening to bring live export back.
